BOAT BELIEVED WRECKED

CREW OF THREE SAFE (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, September 20. A fishing-boat which left Bluff for the Fiordland sounds area on Saturday morning is believed to have been wrecked off the south-west coast of the South Island. The boat is the 48foot Morning Star. The crew of three are safe. A radio message received from Puysegur Point lighthouse by the Awarua radio station at noon todaysaid: “Sprung bad leak. Off Windsor Point. Beached her. All safe.” No further word has been received from the crew. The boat has apparently been beached to the south-east of Puysegur Point lighthouse, and the chances of salvage are considered remote. Mr J. Stirland is the captain of the Morning Star. One crew member is Mr L. Young. The other man aboard has not been identified. The Morning Star is about four and a half years old. She had been used for crayfishing in the sounds area on several occasions.
