The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 9 pjn. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue. Situation: an extensive anti-cyclone covers New Zealand, and a trough of low pressure in the western Tasman is moving slowly eastwards. Forecast: moderate north-easterly winds on the coast; light variable winds inland; weather fine and mild. Outlook: fair. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Light variable winds; weather cloudy in the south, with drizzle or rain at times, but continuing fair and mild elsewhere. Outlook: occasional rain. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday and sunny, with a light easterly At midnight the sky was clear and a moderate easterly wind was Mowing.
