NO BUS ON SUNDAY EVENINGS

YALDHURST ROAD COMPLAINT

From 5 p.m. on Sundays. Yaldhurst road residents have been without a transport service since buses replaced trams. The Waimairi County Council on Thursday evening decided to support them in their demand for at least one trip on Sunday evenings, a round trip to Sockburn being favoured. The Yaldhurst road residents had quite a good tram service, said the chairman (Mr W. W. Laing). Since the buses were run. they had sent in complaints from time to time. With Cr. A. C. Rhodes, he had interviewed the general manager of the Transport Board about two months ago, who had promised to look into the complaints. The residents thought that they should have one bus after 5 p.m. on Sundays. They were not asking for anything unreasonable. They had made a further request and were hoping that the council would support them. He thought it right that the council should support them.

Cr. Rhodes said the buses ran only to the racecourse and back along Yaldhurst road. One round trip should be made on Sunday evenings.
