DRIVE AGAINST MAU MAU

SURRENDER TERMS DISTRIBUTED

(Pec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, August 24. More than 100.000 leaflets giving the terms of surrender for Mau Mau terrorists were showered from the air over the Aberdare Mountains and other known terrorist areas today. In addition. 10,000 were distributed in African locations around Nairobi. Sir "Evelyn Baring, the Governor of Kenya, reiterated today that, there could be no negotiations with any of the Mau Mau leaders. “The Government will not in any way weaken the military attack being made on the gangsters. On the contrary, it will be intensified ”

He said the Government would not offer a general amnesty. Better weather in the last few days has enabled the R.A.F. to intensify its bombing attacks on terrorists.
