OBITUARY
MR W. J. FLETCHER (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 6. Mr William John Fletcher, brother of Sir James Fletcher, and co-founder of the Fletcher group of companies, has died at Auckland, aged 74. Born in Scotland, Mr Fletcher came to New Zealand in 1911 and lived in Dunedin and Invercargill before coming to Auckland in 1914. He was actively concerned with his brother in the formation of the Fletcher subsidiary companies, his chief interest in recent years being the Hall Construction Company, Ltd. He is survived by his wife and a son and daughter.
