County Councillor Collapses.— Mr C. E. Pope, of 67 Albert terrace, St. Martins, a member of the Heathcote County Council, collapsed on the stairs leading to the county’s offices in Hereford street as he was going to attend a meeting of the council last evening. Mr Pope was assisted to. an ambulance by other councillors and accompanied w the Christchurch Public Hospital. He was examined but not admitted, and Jw later returned to his home.
