U.S. STOPS AID TO PERSIA
WASHINGTON, July 9. The White Hous? announced today that President Eiser hower had advised the Persian Prime Minister (Dr. Mussadiq) that the United States “is not at present in a position to extend more economic aid to Persia, or to purchase Persian oil.”
SMALL U.S. ATOM BOMB (Rec. 8 p.m.) . SAN FRANCISCO, July 11. The United States now has an atom bomb sufficiently small to be carried in a single-seater one-engined attack plane, Mr Edward Heineman, chief engineer of the Douglas Aircraft Company of Los Angeles, said today. The plane, a Douglas attack bomber, has been operating from United States Navy carriers for at least a year. Mr Heineman’s statement was authorised by the military authorities.
