UNIFICATION ISSUE
Mr Hammarskjoeld’s Views (Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 10. The United Nations might have to take measures against Dr. Rhee if he defied a truce and tried to uriify Korea by force, Mr Dag Hammarskjoeld, the United Nations SecretaryGeneral, said today at a luncheon in his honour by the United Nations Correspondents’ Association. “It is a curious sight, indeed, when a victim of aggression voices intentions which might themselves call for repression in the name of those very principles which have given him protection when he was attacked,” he said. “As to a concrete situation in Korea, I consider we should not slacken our efforts to reach a settlement and I believe we shall succeed in achieving an honourable peace.”
