OFFICIAL FORECASTS "The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON. July 10. The weather forecast for Christchurch issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue, is:— Situation: a complex trough of low pressure lies across New Zealand. Forecast: moderate southerly winds; weather cold, with scattered showers, especially on the coast and in the foothills, where snow is likely to low levels. Outlook for Sunday: showery. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Moderate variable winds; weather cloudy and cold, with showers at first, but becoming fair later. Outlook for Sunday: fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and sunny, with a light north? west wind. The maximum temperature was !>0.6 degrees. At midnight, the sky was clear, and there was no wind. The temperature was 39.3 degrees. The barometer was steady at 29.301 inches (992.7 millibars). Rainfall for 24 hours ended 1 ajru: nil.
