AIR COMMODORE R. j, KIPPENBERGER (New Zealand Press Associattoe) I WELLINGTON, J-jU 10 Group Captain R. L. I R.A.F., who is a brother of Ma!?’ General Sir Howard Kippenbergef J $ Wellington, has been promoted to air commodore, according to advice 1 ceived in Wellington. Air Commodore Kippenberger U had a notable career in the Royal Ah I Force. Alter varied war service with $ the R.A.F., he returned to New Ze?' land in 1948 as R.A.F. liaison oK I at the British High CommiseioiMft! office in Wellington. He was born in Canterbury, md went to Britain in 1929. During the Second World War, he commandad i group that included No. 75 (Botnter) h Squadron. After D Day, Air Conunodoft Kippenberger served with the 2nd Th- i tical Air Force in France. He op. ; tinued to serve in France and Holte until the end of the war. He m mentioned in dispatches in 1942.
