MATSON and CO. have been favoured with instructions from MR FLOYD MASON, Okain’s Bay, to dispose of his COMPLETE GRADE HERD of Friesian Cows and Heifers, comprising 48 head in all. The Herd consists of—--6 Second Calvers 10 Third Calvers 16 Fourth Calvers 6 Fifth Calvers 2 Sixth Calvers 6 Two-year-old Heifers 2 Bulls, one 18 months and one two-year-old

48 TOTAL Thirty-five of the above Cows are due August-September and five in October. This Herd has been built up on the Purebred Strains of three prominent Friesian Breeders, namely, Mason Bros., Montgomery and Dickie. Careful selection for type, constitution, and butterfat backing has been the policy adopted to bring this Herd to the high standard it enjoys. Twenty years of testing has assisted in acquiring the required standard, last season being the first time missed. 3521 b fat in 246 days over all carried out on hill country speaks for itself. Culling for the forthcoming season has already been done and this is the first time Mr Mason has ever held a sale. The herd is in first-class condition and all have been innoculated.

Tarata Royal Lad is a full brother to Tarata Prince Ideal, who has the highest survey of any bull of any breed in New Zealand. These cows are in calf to the above bull. BULLS—
