FIRE IN LYTTELTON RESTAURANT

OWNER BURNED ABOUT HEAD AND FOOT A fire at Lyttelton last evening in a restaurant in Norwich quay, owned and occupied by Mr and Mrs J. Glenn, damaged the kitchen to the extent of about £ 100. The fire was caused by a pan of fat igniting, the flames spreading to the walls and ceiling before the outbreak was suppressed by the Lyttelton Fire Brigade. . Mr .Glenn, who was in the upper storey of the building, was burned about the head and left foot when he attempted to fight the fire. He was attended by four St. John Ambulance men, and he and Mrs Glenn, who was suffering from shock, were taken to the home of a friend.
