RAILWAY SOCIAL CLUB FORMED
The main function this year for the Christchurch Railway Social Club, which was formed recently, will be a Christmas party for children, followed by a social for members in the evening. Members of the staff have shown a keenness to join the club, and it is hoped that it will develop similarly to the New Plymouth organisation which has more than 75 per cent, of the staff as members. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr E. F. Parr; president, Mr J. J. Sweeney; vice-president, Mr S. W. Tie; secretary-treasurer, Mr S. Goston,\assistant secretary, Mr S. Pickens; executive, Messrs L. Roesler, T. A. Foote, N. Jarvis, E. J. McLaughlin, A. R. Boyd, S. Jennings, T. O’Connor, D. T. Soundy, Misses M. E. Harris, E. W. Campbell, S. M. Carey and R. Stanley.
