INTERNATIONAL AIR RACE

STARTING TIME NOT YET FIXED

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 22. “An inspired piece of forecasting” is how a member of the New Zealand Air Race Committee at the London airport described a report m an English aviation magazine on June 12 that the London to New Zealand air race would start at 4.40 p.m. on October 8. He added: “It is hoped that this will probably be the starting time, but no confirmation can be given until the completion of consultations with the civil aviation authorities concerned. The committee may be able to make an official announcement on July 6.’ The chairman of the committee is Mr Roger Pugh, manager of the London airport. Other representatives are those of the Royal Aero Club and various departments of the airport.
