GUN DOG TRIALS
CANTERBURY CLUB’S CHAMPIONSHIPS The grounds were in ideal working condition, and some excellent trials were seen at the Canterbury Gun Dog Club championships held over two days at the Waihora Gun Club’s grounds at Motukarara recently. Most of the dogs were of high championship standard. W. Streeter’s Labrador, Lady Floss, won the club all-breed championship and the retriever championship. Mrs P. Poulton's English springer spaniel. Master Mark, was the winner of the spaniel championship. This event was one of the largest spaniel trials seen in Canterbury, and the judge, Mr H. Cox, said it was tlie best spaniel championship he had judged or seen, as every dog entered was of championship form, and all had given fine performances. W. R. Hawke’s Labrador, Aidershot Frank, was another double winner, taking top marks in both the limit trials. The club’s president (Mr A. E. Seeker)judged the club all breed championship.
