WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

Ranglora.—Mrs F. Lang presided over the April meeting of the Rangiora Country Women's Institute. Three new members were welcomed. Mrs A. Dalzell presented a report on the recent meeting of the North Canterbury Federation at Pines Beach. Films on health were shown by Miss Davis, of the Department of Health. Results of competitions were as follows:—large bloom: Mrs Sheard 1, Mrs Fitzgibbon and Mrs Branthwatie (equal) 2. Small bloom: Mrs Munro 1, Mrs F. Jones 2. Mrs How and Mrs Sheard (eqttel) 3. Spike v cluster: Mrs B. Lander 1. Mrs Jones and Mrs Munro (equal) 2. Paper pulp article: Mrs Walls 1, Mrs Pulley 2. Meringues: Mrs Page 1. Miss Page 2. The wandering shilling was won by Mrs Sheard.
