QUEEN "FITTING CORONATION \ OFFERING” (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 2. The Acting-Prime Minister (Mr K. J. Holyoake) has sent the following cablegram to tne private secretary of Her Majesty the Queen: “Your Majesty’s loyal subjects in New Zealand have just learned with deepest pride that one of their countrymen, E. P. Hillary, has achieved the honour of being the first to climb Mount Everest. “This announcement of the success of the British expedition led by Colonel Hunt, on the eve of Your Majesty’s Coronation, has thrilled New Zealand. It will, we feci, be acclaimed throughout the world as a most fitting Coronation offering, and one which redound to the greater glory of the British people in Your Majesty’s reign.”
