DR. MORTON’S REPORT
Sir,—The publicity given Dr. Morton’s report will, it is hoped, bring home to people the need for changes. Dr. Ulric Williams, lecturing in this city a few years ago, stated that the treatment of disease was fast becoming a huge secondary industry and that the largest building in any town was usually the hospital. These remarks were treated as sweeping exaggerations and not reported. Now we have Dr. Morton telling us the same thing. It is indeed gratifying to see that this serious matter is at last given the publicity it warrants. The question now is: where do we go from here?—Yours, etc., m HEALTH FIRST. June 2, 1953.
