“BRITISH SHOULD WITHDRAW”
South Korean View (Rec. 12.15 a.m.) PUSAN, May 28. Mr Yoon Chi, the Deputy-Speaker of the South Korean National Assembly, today said that British forces in Korea should withdraw. Mr Yoon, who was addressing correspondents in Seoul, also demanded the recall of South Korean representatives at the Coronation. "British interference is ruining the truce talks and forcing the free world to surrender to the Communists,” he said.
“British Commonwealth nations have no right to interfere in Korean matters. With only nominal forces in Korea they are shouting louder than the United States. "We, the representatives of the people, request the British forces in Korea to pack, and leave, and keep
quiet.” Mr Yoon spoke to correspondents after a meeting with the chief Allied negotiator, Lieutenant-General William Harrison at Munsan, which lasted 80 minutes. Mr Yoon visited the president (Dr. Syngman Rhee) immediately upon his return to SeouL
