OBITUARY
MRS M. ENGELSTAD
Many friends will learn wtih regret of the death of Mrs Jeanne Bngelstad, wife of Mr J, Mentz Engelstad, of Oslo, and youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Peter Grant, formerly of Colombo street north.
Mrs Engelstad was brought up in Christchurch and was educated at the Christchurch Girls’ High School. She was keenly interested in the celebration’of the jubilee of the school, which was held at the time she returned from Norway to Christchurch to visit members of her family. After net marriage. Mrs Engelstad and her husband made their home in Oslo, and were there during the difficult days of the occupation of Norway during the Second World War. When the war was over, she visited Christchurch to recuperate after the hardships of war. ■ She returned to Norway and in September last year, she arrived in Christchurch to visit het sister, Mrs Kennedy White, Gracefield street, and while here she became gravely ill. She is survived by her husband, who .is in Oslo, by her sister, Mrs White, and her brother, Mr Peter Grant, of Wellington. Another sister, Mrs Clifford Jones, and a brother, Mr Matthew Grant, died within the last year.
