BLENHEIM ROAD DEVIATION
DRAINAGE BOARD DENIES “ COMPLICATIONS ”
An assurance was given members of the Christchurch Drainage Board on Tuesday that no complications existed between the Main Highways Board and the Drainage Board to stop progress on the Blenheim road highway deviation.
Mr W. F. Young, chairman of the No. 14 District Highways Council, was reported to have said that he had known the council would not be able to build Blenheim road deviation very quickly but shifting buildings and working in witn the Drainage Board were complications, said Mr R. C. Neville,
“If that 18 so, is there anything we can do, as Blenheim road is a vital access?" said Mr Neville, Mr E. F. Scott (chief engineer) said the board’s only obligation was the relief sewer along Blenheim road. The board had been "chasing the Highways Board UP" to give an easement. Mr Neville: Is there any difficulty as far as we are concerned? i Mr Scott: No—not that I know.
