CORONATION PROCESSION
Sir,—Can you inform me if the City Council or any other organisation has made, or is making, arrangements to seat old people at some point on the route of the Coronation procession on Tuesday next? If chairs were made available as at the centennial procession, many old folks with their physical weaknesses would be able to sit in comfort and enjoy proceedings instead of trying to make their way in a jostling, pushing crowd. Many of us will be unable to attend unless some such provision is made. Hoping something will be done.—Yours, etc., S.S. RANGITIKI. 1879. May 25, 1953. [When this letter was referred to the Town Clerk (Mr H. S. Feast), he said that the correspondertt should communicate with the secretary of the Pensioners’ Association, with whom arrangements have been made for the accommodation of elderly infirm people at a reserved area on the route of the procession.]
