RADIO PROGRAMMES

Sir,—l suspect “Wot, No Spike Jones” of being young and suffering a youthful attack of culture. Her cultural ambitions are completely satisfied from the page's of the “Listener.” Ah, weH, she will mature when first she travels away from Christchurch. I have never heard Spike Jones and could not say with certainty whether he is a crooner or a band leader. Neither have I heard Mr Sinatra that I remember. It is the unchanging type of evening programme tnat I object to. An experienced person could so easily vary the fare from the vast selection of good music that is available.—Yours, etc., SILENT NIGHTS. May 26, 1953.
