INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODDFELLOWS
(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 24. Amendments to the rules of the Society of the Independent Order of Oddfellows made at the biennial Dominion conference at New Plymouth last week provide for the appropriation of surplus funds amounting .to £83,400, including additional death benefits of £l5 a member, says a statement supplied tonight. Officers elected for the ensuing two years are: Grand Master, Mr C. A. Johnson (Auckland); Deputy Grand Master, Mr E. H. L. Braggins (Christchurch); Grand Warden, Mr J. P. Coulter (Hamilton); Grand Secretary, Mr R. E. Sligo (Dunedin);- Grand Treasurer, Mr D. *F. Smillie (Palmerston North); immediate past Grand Master, Mr G. W. Dale (Invercargill); representatives to the Grand Lodge of Australia, Messrs Johnson and Sligo.
