COURSE FOR ENTRY TO UNIVERSITY
INCLUSION OF HOME SCIENCE URGED
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 13. The University of New Zealand will be asked by the Post-primary Teachers’ Association to include a home science subject and also agriculture among the subjects for university enThis was decided at the Dominion conference of the association today. The home science subject asked for would be one acceptable to the Otago School of Home Science, and might be called “household science,” the conference agreed. Supporters of the proposal said that -at present it wag almost impossible for girls from homecraft courses, presenting homecraft, clothing, and three other subjects for the school certificate examination, to find four subjects for university entrance. Thus many promising candidates were debarred from entering the Home Science School. Agricultural students suffered from a similar difficulty, said the delegates
