THEFT FROM PATIENTS AT BLIND INSTITUTE
INMATE SENT TO BORSTAL INSTITUTION (New Zealand Press Association) A t AUCKLAND, May 12. A youth with defective sight was told by Mr M. C. Astley. S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court today that he had been “cunningly trading” on the defect to commit offences. “Your history shows that you have the cunning idea that you can steal and nothing will be done to you,” he said. Raymond Te Hore. aged 18. a labourer. appeared for sentence on two charges of stealing £7 10s from fellow gatients at the Institute for the Blind, [e was committed to a Borstal institution for two years.
