GUN DOG TRIALS
CANTERBURY CLUB’S EVENTS The monthly trials of the Canterbury Gun Dog Club were held last week-end. The grounds worked had ample cover, although wet in sections. Entries were not so big as usual, because members were away duck shooting. The average working of the dogs was poor, and many failed to complete the trial. -The puppy class ■provided the best performances. The judges were Mrs C. M. Cooper and Messrs J. Stanton and W. Streeter. Results were:— % McKenzie Cup (Open Combined).—W. Streeter’s Labrador, 166 points, 1: H. Cox’s Labrador, 165. 2; M. P. Leathem's springer spaniel, 148, 3. Limit Water.—R. M. Morten’s clumber spanied, 73 points, 1. ’ Novice Land.—Mrs C. M. Cooper’s springer spaniek 94 points, 1; J. Luke's springer spaniel, 68, 2. Puppy, Land.—Mrs C. M. Cooper’s springer spaniel, 85 points, 1; .M. P. Leathern’s springer spaniel, 83, 2; C. J. Sowden’s springer spaniel, 82, 3.
