CORONATION CEREMONY
Security Measures For Abbey POLICE DISGUISED AS COURIERS (NJZ. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, May 9. Fifteen hand-picked security police from Scotland Yard, disguised as courtiers and diplomats, will be among the 7000 people jamming Westminster Abbey on June 6 for the Coronation ceremony, according to the "Sunday Dispatch.”
Three will be dressed in black silk breeches, silk hose, frilled shirts, and black tailcoats—Court dress. Twelve will wear the black ties and tail coats of official morning dress. Their job will be to keep a lookout for any gatecrashers, political suspects, or cranks who might attempt to cause a disturbance. There will also be eight detectives high in the roof of the Abbey looking down on the ceremony. There will be two or more Scotland Yard special men posted at the entrance fo the Abbey to examine every face and the official passes of the guests. Tickets with secret markings will be sent to guests only a few days before the Coronation, to prevent forgers from copying them.
