MARLYN COMPLETES 500th INTERISLAND TRIP The little motor-ship Marlyp completed 500 trips In the Lyttelton-Wellington service when she arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning. The Marlyn was formerly a Falrmlle in the Royal New Zealand Navy. She was bought after the Second World War by a syndicate of former servicemen for £1250. Her conversion to a cargo ship brought the cost up to more than £12.000. She is of 103 tons and carries 110 tons of cargo. In spite of predictions to the contrary, the Marlyn has proved a profitable venture, and shippers between the two ports were quick to appreciate the quick turnrounds she was able to make, with two double trips a week. Only six men, Including the master, are carried In the vessel. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS AUCKLAND, May 8. Arrived.—H.M.N.Z.S, Lachlan (11.55 a.m.)> from sea.
