UNDERVIEWER INJURED IN MINE (From Our Own Reporter) * GREYMOUTH, April 10. Mr Thomas Maguigan, aged 61, an underviewer, of Hilton street. Blackball. was admitted to the Grey Hospital this afternoon, suffering from a compound fracture of the left leg and other injuries received at the Paparoa State coal mine at Roa. shortly before noon. Mr Maguigan was measuring up a working place at the face, where work had finished a week ago, when a piece of stone was dislodged from the top of a set. striking him on the His condition was reported to be satisfactory this evening. ELDERLY MAN STRUCK BY TRAM Arthur Ernest Fletcher, aged 72, of 36 Everard street, suffered head injuries when he was struck by a tram at the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Madras street yesterday afternoon. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 5 p.m. Early this morning his condition was described as fairly satisfactory, although he was still on the seriously ill list.

CYCLIST STRUCK BY CAR Miss Aileen Margaret Daly, of Wincops road, Halswell. suffered injuries to her legs when she was struck by a car as she was riding her bicycle out of the Riccarton carpet factory yesterday afternoon. She was treated at the Christchurch Public Hospital and sent home.
