Evening gowns in general for the Coronation festivities in England may be either figure-hugging slim or bouffant. Some are frankly crinolines, complete with frame. Many of the slimmest ones have sashes or swathed draping passed round the hies and tied at the back to form a series of loons which give a Victorian bustle effect. Bodices, in the main, are close fitting and small—and they look even smaller than they are by comparison with the voluminous skirts of chiffon, organza, tulle or net which cascade, often in panels passed over the belt, from the waist
