Test Pilot To Train Crew SYDNEY, April 8. The Minister of Air (Mr W. McMahon) announced yesterday that Wing-Commander D. R. Cuming, A.F.C. and Bar, has been appointed to command the No. 1 Long-range Flight in the Royal Australian Air Force. This flight was formed recently to select and train crews for Royal Australian Air Force entries in the London to Christchurch air race. _ Mr McMahon said that Wing-Com-mander Cuming was the Royal Australian Air Force’s outstanding test pilot. He added: “He made flying history when he delivered a Canberra jet aircraft across the-world. . His experience will be invaluable in the great amount of preliminary work for the air race.”
