PROTESTANT CAMPAIGN
RALLIES DURING CONGRESS (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 7 A Protestant campaign will be held in Sydney next week while the Roman Catholic national Eucharistic Congress is being held. The campaign—the United Evangelical Campaign of Witness—is being organised by the New South Wales Council of ,Churches and the United Protestant Council. The Rev. B. G. Judd, the president of the United Protestant Council, and rector of St. Peter’s Church of England, Darlinghurst, Sydney, said today: “The campaign is not intended as a counter-blast to the Eucharistic Congress, but to let the public hear both sides. We thought it wrong to remain silent. That happened during the Eucharistic Congress in 1928, but not this time." A pastoral letter stating the Protestant attitude to the issues involved in Qie Eucharistic Congress will be read at all services in all churches of six Protestant denominations throughout New South Wales next Sunday. United Protestant rallies will be held during next week.
