Earthquake Assistance Appeal.— The League of Red Cross Societies has sent appeals to all parts of the world for tents and medical supplies to help the victims of last week’s earthquakes in western Turkey. The Turkish Red Cross Society has told the league that 15,000 people have been forced to flee into the open countryside in snow and rain, and their lives depend on immediate shelter. —Geneva, March 23.
