TEAL FAVOURITE FOR GRAND NATIONAL
Teal, lafet year’s winner, is. favourite for the Grand National Steeplechase, to be run at Aintree on March 28. He holds that position in spite of finishing last in the Cheltenham Gold Cup last week, when he tired badly after jumping five fences. "I could not understand Teal’s last because at this stage he usually puts in his best work,” said his jockey, Arthur Thompson. “I still think he will win the National again this year.” Teal had two cuts on his legs when he returned to the saddling enclosure last week. Experts think these injuries caused his failure. The first attempt to run the race was declared void. Immediate being first to finish. The event was re-run at the end of the programme, all •bets standing. Immediate, ridden by L. W Hare, won by half a head from Modulation (W. Cook), with Tahmoor (D. Munro) half a length back third.
