ORDER TO RED ARMY
“Rally Even Closer Round Party” (Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, March 8. Marshal Bulganin, the new Soviet War Minister, issued an order of the day expressing the army’s grief at the death of Stalin and calling on all ranks to rally even closer around the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the Soviet Government, Moscow Radio reported today. The order said: “Carrying out Stalin’s plan of genius, the Soviet armed forces destroyed Fascist Germany and imperialist Japan, defended the freedom and independence of our country and saved the peoples of Europe and Asia from Fascist enslavement. “With deep grief and sorrow the Soviet Army dips its fighting colours before the coffin of its leader and genius. “Comrades, soldiers, non-commis-sioned officers and generals: let us rally our ranks still closer around the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the Soviet Government. “Let us pledge ourselves to strengthen constantly the fighting might of the Soviet Army, raise its battle preparedness and be always vigilant. “The Soviet people can rest assured that their army, true to the legacy of the immortal Stalin, is always ready to fulfil with honour its sacred duty to the fatherland.” CAUSE OF STALIN’S DEATH (Rec. 7 p.m.) MOSCOW, March 7. Moscow Radio said today that a post mortem on Stalin established a large centre hemorrhage in the left hemisphere of the brain and this hemorrhage destroyed vital parts of the ' brain and affected breathing and blood : circulation. The communique on the post mortem i was signed by Messrs A. F. Tretyakov, ' Minister of Health, I. Kuperin, chief i medical officer of health of the Kremlin. R. N. Anichkov, president of the Academy of Medical Science, and Pro- ' fessor Migunov, chief pathologist at the ' Ministry of Health. !
