YOUTH FATALLY INJURED MOTOR-CYCLE AND CAR COLLIDE (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, March 8. A youth was fatally injured when the motor-cycle he was riding collided with a car at Mosgiel shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday. He was: Donald James Miller, aged about 18, of Abbot’s Hill, Abbotsford. He was admitted to the Dunedin Public Hospital with severe head injuries and a serious leg injury. He died about 7.30 p.m. on Saturday. MAN SUFFERS FATAL INJURIES (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 8. . A man was fatally injured in a collision with a cat* at Belmont, Takapuna at 2.45 a.m. today. He was: Roy Winston Haskell, aged 33, a chief petty officer in H.M.N.Z.S. Philomel. The injured man was admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from fractures of his skull and jaw. He died at 9.45 a.m. Chief Petty Officer Haskell arrived in New Zealand from England seven months ago. He had no relatives in New Zealand. TRUCK AND TROLLEYBUS COLLIDE TWO CHILDREN BADLY INJURED (New Zealand Press Association) m . AUCKLAND, March 8. The twin 10-year-old daughters of Mr R. W. Bell, of Anglesea street, Ponsonby. were injured in a collision between a truck and a trolley-bus on Saturday afternoon. Marilyn Bell was thrown from the back of the truck, and was admitted to to the Middlemore Hospital suffering from fractures of her right leg and arm. Lorraine Bell was admitted to the Auckland Hospital with a fractured skull and other head injuries. Mr Bell, who was driving the truck, and Mrs Bell suffered minor abrasions. MAN FOUND ON ROAD Max Early, of 14 Harker street was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 10 p.m. on Saturday with a cut on the head. He was found injured in Oxford terrace. His condition last evening was reported as ■ satisfactory. MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED Mervyn Orchard, of Saltwater Creek suffered injuries to his right knee and right hand when he fell off his motor- ; cycle, which got out of control near • Ashley about 7 p.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public 1 Hospital, where his condition last evening was reported as satisfactory. ! Norman P. Roberts, a pillon passenger. escaped injury.
