STALIN’S DEATH
Sir,—As an onlooker of the nation’s leaders and international events, I wish to express my disgust at some of the newspaper reports of Mr Stalin’s illness. There are the reports which are discourteous in their obvious unconcealed desire for Stalin’s speedy death—the sooner the better attitude. How soon people forget the’ fears and great war against Fascism from which Russia saved us. In my ooinion, Stalin must possess a master mind to have rescued a sixth of the world.from poverty, degradation and illiteracy, and started the great wheels of social evolution. It will be interesting some day in the spirit world to note who hold places of honour—those who gave humans their birthrights or those who saved people by throwing napalm bombs at them, burning off their skins, plus destroying their homes and land—Yours, etc., LOOKING AHEAD. March 6, 1953.
