N.A.T.O. AND THE ANZUS PACT

Links Wanted For “Global Defence”

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright)

(Rec. 8 p.m.) PARIS, February 20. Lord Ismay, the Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, said today that he hoped a link would be established between N.A.T.O. and the United States, Australia, and New Zealand Pacific Pact (the Anzus Pact).

He said it was possible he would discuss this with the N.A.T.O. Standing Group in Washington next month.

“I don’t see how we can do our business without global defence,” said Lord Ismay.
