TRAP SHOOTING
BELFAST CLUB Two trophy matches and a £25 sweep- \ stake were decided at the Belfast Gun Club’s grounds recently. About 35 shooters, from as far south as Timaru. ■ took part in each match. Results:— First Trophy Match.—B. Begg 1, M. Tattle 2. Second Trophy Match.—A. Thomson 1, B. Begg 2. C. J. Inwood 3. First Match, Five Targets off Handicap Marks.—C. J. Inwood, B. Begg, B. H. Sluis, A. fa. Fraser, N. Inwood, R. Wright, R. Mcllrick, F. Rouse, and A. N. Turner all shot the possible. Second Match, 10 Targets, trophy presented to club by D. Wright.—Possible* were registered by B. Begg. M. Tattle. F. E. Kelly, and A. fa. Fraser, B. Begg winning on the eleventh target in the shoot off with M. Tattle. Third Match. £25 Sweepstake, 15 Targets off Handicap Marks.—First, second and third prize money was divided by A. W. Fraser. A. Thomson, and C. Schaffer, with possibles, and the balance between A. J. Lancaster, B. Begg, R. Mcllrick and C. Booker, with 14 on. Fourth Trophy Match. 15 Targets off Handicap Marks.—A. Thomson. B. Begg, C. J. Inwood, V. Luisetti, R. Mcllrick and J. Potts were top scorers with 14 on/ and in the shoot-off A. Thomson won on the eleventh target, with B. Begg second and C. J. Inwood third. Fifth Match, 10 Targets off Handicap Marks.—M. Tattle, B. Begg and A. Thomson all shot possibles. * Sixth Match, first miss out.—W. Wright won on the eleventh target. B. Begg was “High Gun” for the day with A. W. Fraser runner-up. Messrs C. Booker, A. J. Lancaster and C. J. Inwood refereed.
