WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Northerly winds, becoming moderate; fair at first, cloudy later, with some drizzle in the south; temperatures mild. Outlook: rain. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, with a light north-east wind. The maximum temperature was 61.7 degrees. At midnight the sky ‘was overcast, and there was a light northerly wind. The temperature was 53.5 degrees. The barometer, at 29.588 Inches (1015.5 millibars), was falling unsteadily.
