JUMPING AT SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW

FIVE HORSES CHOSEN TO REPRESENT N.Z. (New Zealand Press Association) ROTORUA. February 17. The five horses selected to represent New Zealand at the Sydney Royal Show are Optimist (Hugh Thompson. Hastings), Starlight (P. Holden, Onga Onga, Hawke’s Bay), Rum (Miss Heather Swarbrick, Morrinsville), Swallow (Mrs J. R. McKenzie, Otane), and Hopalong (Adrian White, Pukehou. Hawke s Bay. The reserve horses are Rival (Miss Dulcie Paget, Hastings) and Playboy (Eric White, Otane, Hawke’s Bay). These seven horses will assemble again in Rotorua from March 10 to 15 for final schooling, and on March 16 they will go to Wellington to embark for Sydney. The selectors were Messrs R. S. Pilmer (Masterton), R. Ramstead (Morrinsville), W. R. Duncan (Tafhape), and D. Holden (Onga Onga). Mr Holden said tonight that the judges were satisfied that the best horses available had been chosen, and he expected the team to perform very well.
