BOWLS

RECORD ENTRY FOR WEST COAST TOURNAMENT (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Fteb. 16. The West Coast Bowling Centre has received a record entry of 80 for its annual fours championship tournament, which will commence on February 27 and conclude on March 4. Last year there were 72 entries, which was also a record, but the tournament had to be abandoned because of bad weather. There is a strong representation from Canterbury district clubs as usual, and newcomers include fours from Picton, Waimate, and Blenheim. Other entries come from Motueka, Nelson, Takaka, Westport, Hokitika, Reefton, and Grey district clubs are strongly represented also. . Hokitika, Greymouth (headquarters), Blaketown, Cobden, and Runanga and either Karoro or Dunollie greens will be used. In spite of the recent protracted dry spell, greens are generally in good order throughout the district.
