New School Opened.— There were 196 pupils on the roll of the new school at Paparoa street. Papanui. when it opened yesterday morning. Equipped with six classrooms which can accommodate 240 children, the school is the second in the Canterbury Education Board’s district to be built on the Dominion basic plan— Burnham School was the first. Apart from the five-year-old children, most of the children attending the new school formerly went to the Elmwood. Waimairi, Papanui or St. Albans Schools.
