ELIMINATION OF NASSELLA
CABINET TO DISCUSS PEST (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, January 21. “The serious sproad of nassella tussock in the South Island is to be discussed by the Cabinet,” said the Minister of Agriculture (Mr K. J. Helyoake) in Wellington today. The Minister said he had visited North Canterbury within the last 10 days, and had been disturbed to see how rapidly nassella tussock spread. Nothing concrete in the way of preventive measures could be done until the matter had been before the Cabinet, he said.
