LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMMISSION
CHRISTCHURCH SITTING POSTPONED Official advice that the Local Government Commission’s sitting in Christchurch, which was to have opened on the afternoon of February 2. has been postponed because of the death last week of the chairman (Mr I. J. Goldstine) was received by the City Council yesterday morning. The letter will be considered by the council at its meeting on Monday evening. The commission was to have come to Christchurch to consider proposals xto exclude certain areas from the counties of Waimairi and Heathcote and include them in the City of Christchurch. Notice of at least 14 days will be given of the new date for the sitting.
