The Deputy-Mayor of Masterton (Cr . K ® lr > has been elected Mayor of Masterton for the unexpired portion of Mr William Kemp’s term. Mr Kemp died recently. The election was held at a special meeting of the council yesterday. Cr. F. G. Codd InEton was elected Deputy-Mayor, and Mr T. A. Russell was co-opted as a member of the council to fill the vacancy caused by the election of Cr. Keir as Mayor.—(P.A.)
