COLONIAL SUGAR INTERIM DIVIDEND UNCHANGED (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. November 12. The Colonial Sugar Refining Company. Ltd., has declared interim dividends of 18s (Australian currency) a £2O share on the old shares and 12s (Australian currency) a share on the new shares. The dividends are payable on December 10. Shares were marked ex dividend today. The interim dividends are equal to an annual rate of 9 per cent., or the same as that- paid in the last two financial years. Union OH.— Net profit of the Union Oil. Soap, and Candle Company, Ltd., has fallen by £360 to £6884 for the year ended September 30, after providing £1552 for depreciation and £7760 for taxation. Final dividend is 9d a share, making is 3d for the year, or 7 13-16 per cent. The amount required is £4687, and the bonus of 3£ per cent, paid last year is not repeated. Undivided profits are increased by £197 to £3261. Gross profit from trad-, ing and manufacturing is lower by £953 i at £25,219, while other income, mainly j from rents, shows a rise of £lB to £1527. Expenses, including insurance, are up to £10,578, against £9986.—(P.A.) Leyland-O’Brien.— Net profit of the j Leyland-O’Brien Timber Company, Ltd., rose by £1623 for the year ended Sep-, tember 30, continuing the upward trend of the last seven years. The result was reached after providing £15,100 for taxation, against £15,500, and an unstated amount for depreciation. Dividend, unchanged at Is a share—6 2-3 per cent.— absorbs £6OOO and a bonus of 6d a share takes £3OOO, making a total distribution of 10 per cent, which absorbs £9OOO. Gross profit increased by £2593 to £65,813, while expenses were £1370 higher at £35,883. The company will pay the usual bonus to employees.— (P. A.) Wi’liam Cabl» Holdings.—An interim ordinary dividend of 3J per cent, is payable on December 10, ex November 19. Last year the interim was 3J per cent, and the final 3J per cent, contributing shares participate as from September 1 on the amount called up (5s a share). Taringamutu Totara Timber.—A dividend of 6 per cent., free of social security tax, is payable on December 10.— (P.A.) Taranaki Brewery.—A dividend of 7J per cent, has been recommended.
