OVERSEAS FUNDS FROM WOOL
CAUTIOUS ESTIMATE ADVOCATED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 11. The importance of wool as a sterling and dollar earner for New Zealand had been demonstrated in the marked price variations which had been a last two wool seasons, said the Minister of Agriculture (Mr K. J. Holyoake) tonight. However, though the Auckland prices .or crossbred wool, at about 47d. compared with the average for the last season of 40d, could be regarded as satisfactory, over-optimism should be avoided, said the Minister.
Mr Holyoake said the wool was notorious for price and the trend of prices at the saJ» between now and Christmas at tn three remaining North Island centre and the four South Island z cent . r ®® would be keenly watched by farmins and business interests, as well as w the Government.
