MORE AMALGAMATION PETITIONS
Since the announcement that the Local Government Commission will deal with district petitions for amalgamation with the city of Christchurch several inquiries have been received by the City Council about the hearing of new petitions. Six previously introduced before the commiss on and eight lodged subseauentiv were mentioned in the report or the forthcoming sitting. Application is now being made to have others heard. Three areas in the Heathcote uounty alone are seeking inclusion.
